Disposition: - Guarded. Reva has had her trust betrayed too many times, and now she can’t trust easily. She assumes people have ulterior motives in everything, and she tries to gauge every person she meets to figure out if they’re going to see her as a person, or a defective machine, or an abomination against life itself. It takes a lot to earn her trust, and she tends to remain on her guard. She’s best with people who tend to show everything they think on their face, though it takes a lot to convince her it’s not just acting.
- Out of her depth. Reva is ultimately a normal person who has been thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Before her death, while her father was an exceptional, incredible genius, Reva herself was much more normal. As a result, she tends to compare herself against the best people in the galaxy, rather than a more normal standard to hold herself to, and thinks of herself as not very skilled or good. She knows she’s not as strong or skilled as some of her companions, and has some intense doubts because of it.
- Pragmatic. The fastest path between a problem and a solution is a straight line. She is not afraid of fighting dirty, nor is she afraid of asking for help when she can trust someone. She sees problems as something to be solved, and doesn’t much care for how to do it. The only thing she won’t do is kill someone, but that’s not kindness.
- Afraid of death. Having died once in the past, Reva is absolutely terrified of dying again. She knows, better than anyone, how painful and scary dying is. That means, unlike other soul artists who awaken by confronting and risking death, Reva draws her power from her intense desire to live… But the desire to live and the fear of death are ultimately the same thing. She won’t inflict death on anyone else, but she also is prone to panic and lashing out if it seems an unavoidable doom is coming.
- Empathetic. Despite her taciturn nature, she does feel a lot of love and empathy. Anthropomorphizing actual non-sapient machines, trying to be kind to people, and so on. She won’t trust, but she will generally try to extend kindness when she can. And, as a result, she also tries to avoid killing anything, even insects or animals, due to a combination of her empathy and the aforementioned fear of death.
- Loving. When someone has earned her trust and she truly cares about them, she will move mountains for them. She dropped out of the North Star tournament with no hesitation to find her friend, and she’s willing to face overwhelming odds and almost certain death, despite her fear, for the sake of those she cares about.
Suitability: To be truthful, Reva is unsuited to a setting like Noctium. She doesn’t trust easily, she hates showing vulnerability except to a couple specific people, and she assumes the worst. Her reaction to the Gembond powers and any bodily transformations will be that there’s a malicious plot.
She’ll be willing to give the native gems the benefit of the doubt, mostly, but she’ll try to keep to herself, and she won’t believe that all of this was a strange accident. She’ll be constantly looking for the catch.
That said, hopefully over time she will learn to come to terms with her life in Noctium, and learn to relax, and that maybe the universe isn’t in fact out to get her. Hopefully she’ll actually make new friends.
Condition upon arrival: Exhausted and superficially scraped up, but nothing rest won’t fix.
Abilities: Gifted- She’s better than average in just about everything, picking up skills quickly and mastering them faster than average. However, she’s only better than average, and does not have anything she excels in. She’s basically a 6-7/10 in any skill or stat you care to name- Better than any random person, better than average, but still nowhere near anyone who specializes in it.
Soul Arts- Martial arts that are powered by her soul. Her style is based on piguaquan, with heavy focus on palm strikes. Her primary techniques are an ability to make a single copy of herself, able to fight and share its senses with her, letting her effectively be in two places at once to fight. Her other technique is a special palm strike which can infuse her soul fire into her opponent, essentially jamming their ability to use their own soul arts or powers.
Other than that, basic soul arts techniques are things like sensing power, and most importantly, reinforcing her own body.
Being Mean: She’s skilled at homing in on someone’s insecurities and emotional weaknesses and targeting them to hurt. She doesn’t use this much normally, but she tends to use it in fights to try to drag enemies down from fighting at their best.
Human Robot: Not an ability, exactly, but her body is a robot but she has a very unique soul, and her body is, to a casual observer, completely indistinguishable from a human, and even from her point of view, she won’t generally notice the differences from her human body, as she was built specifically to be exactly as close to her human body as possible.
It’s questionable if her soul really is the soul of the dead Reva, but she has since moved on past that and decided that whoever she is, she’s alive now, so she tends to just treat it as if she is and move on with her life.
Poker face- She just naturally doesn’t emote much at all. Her poker face is obscenely good.
Inventory: Nothing but the clothes on her back.
Gembond: Emerald
Gem Location: Back, between her shoulder blades
